Is JRE Joe Rogan's Fear Factory?
One Of The Greats May Be Going Down Not Swinging! (Funny how I originally wrote this nearly 4 years ago!)
Do me a favor, suspend your allegiance to The Guy who used to be fearless & cutting-edge. Climb out of emotional quicksand & step onto the platform that trains dock at, so we can board THE SENSIBILITY EXPRESS to call B.S. when we see it.
Question #1. Has anyone noticed how Joe claims to be a moron, yet constantly guides guests’ comments toward his way of thinking i.e. (telling the greatest skateboarder who ever lived/*Christian Hosoi) Tony Hawk what kind of physical preparation he should be undertaking, schooling (Top of his genre moviemaker) Quentin Tarantino on how he need be worried & concerned about what his critics think of his movies or even selling the public on the idea that he’s “Apolitical” all while continuing to bash TRUMP even so many months after the election?
Question #2. Are we going to sit back & let this guy collect millions while giving advice & guidance untethered by accountability?
Question #3. Is our collective measuring stick so small that the leader of SOBER OCTOBER gets to deify his opinions while besmirching others of a more learned provenance & pedigree in their fields of study & vocation?
In any case, I am not here to offer counterfeit objectivity. I exist as a person who is subjective & willing to bear the brunt of his opinions. What people deserve from those of us who make our money as talking heads & or as influencers is an unbridled ride on the wild mustangs of an ungated prairie. Those of us raised with the idea of limitation at our backs & whatever the fuck we want to do, being within a not-so-distant gaze, know what it feels like when one of our brethren has caught the bug of “safety”, “security” & “fame”.
I have watched the 3 iterations of Joe Rogan’s career blossom over the last 20 years & the man is great! He has everything one needs to be great & continue to be great, in my opinion. However, when a Lion stops sharpening his teeth & has to play the “appeasement game”, those teeth get dull & the younger, stronger, smarter bucks begin to successfully plot your doom! Yet, I believe in respecting those who have pioneered the road less traveled & hereby call for a Global Slap to be given to Joe & then, a Global Hug! He needs to be awakened & then shown actual love because, in his position, there is no replacement. There is only a Good Cup of Joe or a Bad cup of Joe! Much love Brother!
